This is our story. How we became
Life Plus consumers for life. In the late 80's and early 90's, we
became aware that many people our age were suffering from chronic
diseases and worse yet, dying. Being in our mid 40's, this was not
an option we were willing to accept. We started doing our homework
and quickly realized that diet and nutrition was key to maintaining
a healthy body.
Over the next four or five years
we experienced disappointment after disappointment after trying
product after product from company after company. We had decided
supplements were a waste of time and money when a friend down in
Alberquerque, New Mexico told me about a company in Batesville,
Arkansas He asked me if I had ever heard about Life Plus. I said
no. He went on to explain that the company (as V. M. Nutri) had
been manufacturing nutritional products for doctors and healthcare
professionals only since 1936. Just recently they had formed a marketing
company, Life Plus, to make these same doctor quality products available
to the public. This got our attention. They had been in business
for a long time. Their customers were doctors and healthcare professionals.
Maybe this was what we had been looking for.
We did some more basic research
that confirmed what my friend had told me. We called Life Plus and
placed our first order. That was 25 years ago. We are both in our
mid-70's, we have no chronic illnesses and we are not on any medications
of any kind.
About Life Plus
The Life Plus story starts
in 1992 in the USA when Bob Lemon was a pharmacist. He had begun
to see patterns in the customers at his pharmacies; often one treatment
led to the need for another. This concerned him, so he began to
take a deep interest in nutritional science and soon realised the
important role it would come to play in supporting overall health
and wellbeing. A new chapter then began; Bob decided to formulate
and manufacture his own nutritional supplements. He meticulously
monitored the supply and quality of the ingredients, to make sure
each product was of the very highest standard.
Bob’s approach and his exceptional
products soon came to the attention of Dr Dwight McKee, then a young
doctor who was pioneering treatments based on holistic wellbeing
and seeing interesting results. Their shared philosophy led to the
two becoming firm friends and collaborating on nutritional formulations
in a partnership that remains as strong now as it was back then.
About J. Robert Lemon
Bob began his professional career as a pharmacist, providing prescriptions
to thousands through a number of successful pharmacies based in
the US. He had the foresight to recognize the potential of nutrition
in helping his customers, as well as the increasingly prominent
role it would play in modern medicine. Making it his mission to
make high-quality supplements available directly to the consumer,
he purchased a supplement manufacturer based in the US, making sure
he could closely monitor the supply and quality of the products.
Bob soon found himself joined by other partners - from many different
backgrounds in business, but each sharing his passion for helping
people. Since then, Lifeplus has grown into an International Company
with customers world wide.
About Dr. Dwight McKee
Dr McKee’s extensive
medical biography includes an academic background in pharmacology,
laboratory research and clinical medicine, before undertaking twelve
years’ study and practice of nutritional and complementary
medicine disciplines as a medical director at the first integrative
medicine clinic on the US East Coast. Working with cancer patients
in his
practice inspired him to develop his expertise further. He became
board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Oncology, practicing
these disciplines for six years at top
clinics across the US, and has additionally pursued advanced studies
in Immunology.
